The Good in Goodbye

What a caterpillar calls the end; the rest of the world calls a butterfly- Lao Tzu

There comes a point in everyone's life when you realize something has run its course, and its time to walk away from the situation. Knowing that everything in our lives isn't supposed to last forever is a gift. We all have been guilty of staying in situations simply because we are comfortable or because we want to try and make things work. We adhere to jobs we don't like, shaky friendships, and bad marriages because we are afraid that ending them shows a weakness or a defeat. This is far from true, and knowing when to gracefully bow out is the greatest thing a person can ever do.

In most instances people are so focused on the door that has closed that they pay no attention to the one that's opening. Regardless of your past, and trials in your life, everyday is an opportunity to change your life. It is true that people are in your life for a reason, season or forever, but this also applies to life experiences, jobs and other relationships. So learn to embrace endings, and turn them into a new beginning. Don't hold on to things that weigh you down or drain you. How is your ship supposed to sail if you keep it anchored? Walking away from something that isn't working for you isn't giving up. Staying in a situation that isn't conducive to the progress of oneself is really giving up. You have given up on yourself, which is a greater offense.

Life is full of experiences some are victorious and others are defeats, the importance is to walk away with a lesson from each experience. Approach life by looking at where you are going instead if where you have been.
