Watching the season premiere ofLala's Full Court Lifeand the series premiere ofStyled by Juneon television last night, I couldn't help but feel good. I have known of their work for years, and although I always liked them, I wasn't exactly a fan that followed their every move. I don't even follow them on twitter, but last night seeing these women on my television was a breath of fresh air.
It was great seeing women of reality television appear on my screen not because who they're married too, bickering and bitching all day, or who have a show based on a slanderous lifestyle that we all may be interested in watching. I addressed this very narrow viewpoint which most realty television gives women in myBadgering Bitches article. I do indulge in a few of the shows. Basketball wives and Mob Wives are my guilty pleasure, but I can't help it, they're so damn entertaining. They've kind of become the new Soap Opera for my generation. Nonetheless I’m happy to see that women of reality television are depicted in good light also.
Two women, whose careers aren't smeared with bad press, not known as bitches and Diva's. They are just great woman with outstanding careers who want to make their mark on the world. It's just a start, but I’m sure the small steps, but very big moves. I love it.
