- Although this one may seem obvious, wear Sunscreen! If you plan to be out in the sun all day it's best to put on a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Putting on Sunscreen may seem tedious but it is important to protect your delicate skin. You should aim to try to reapply sunscreen every 3-4 hours. Also keep in mind that regardless the shade of your skin you need sunscreen! No skin color is immune from sunburn and damage.
- Cover up (just a little!). Wearing a wide brim hat not also makes a fashion statement it provides coverage for your face and neck from the sun. Sunglasses also protect your eyes from harmful sun rays, which most people forget they need. Protecting your eyes from the sun is just as important as your skin.
- Try to avoid sun exposure when the sun is at it's highest. Usually that is between 10 am- 4 pm, when the Sun is at its strongest it of course is more harmful. Of course we know you can't avoid the sun but if you are going to be out during those times it's important to make sure you are protecting your skin.
