3 Simple Ways To Prevent Colds and the Flu This Season

Fall is here and for most that means cooler temperatures! Most of us have probably packed away of summer clothes and pulled out the sweaters, boots and jackets. For a lot of people this also means it is officially Cold and Flu season. Like most people I avoid being sick like the plague, luckily enough there are plenty of preventative measures you can take this season to avoid getting sick.

According to WebMD here are some top tips to avoid a cold. 

1. Wash your hands!  It's one of the easiest ways to prevent a cold. Washing your hands frequently and for at least 20 seconds each time. Although it sounds silly most people don't wash their hands often enough. Especially if you work in an office or use public transportation. Viruses can live on surfaces for several hours. 


2. Work it out! besides the obvious reasons you should work out. Working out regularly boosts your natural virus killing cells. Not to mention it can improve your overall health and make getting over a cold a lot easier.

3. Get lots of sleep! This one is probably the most important. Sleeping gives your body the opportunity to recharge. Not getting enough sleep causes unnecessary stress on the body, making you much more vulnerable to catching a cold.
