Can We Stop With The Blac Chyna Slut Shaming

Can we stop with the Blac Chyna slut shaming and hoe discussions?
Honestly it never ceases to baffle me when the waves of anger crash through social media as strangers come together to deliver a verdict on someone’s worth using their sexuality as a measuring stick for different levels of respectability or lack thereof.

blacchyna a petty hoe, washed up bitch who wanna remain in the industry so mf bad lmao

From the way she dresses, to her partners, Blac Chyna's life has consistently been used as a dartboard by the vacuous minds of people who see their sole duty in life being to police and control the bodies of Black women. Misogynoir fits perfectly in the insults hurled in Chyna's direction as her Blackness is seen as an obscene facet of her sexuality. The bodies of Black women are infinitely held to a more vulnerable state of judgment and public scrutiny, and this is directly linked to the fact that Black female sexuality is seen as the opposite to the de facto virtuous purity of white female sexuality. The ways we choose to harness our bodies and exercise our agency as whole beings is constantly scrutinized with verdicts passed by juries whose only understanding of Black female sexuality is made up of the stereotypical tropes of the Jezebel, the welfare queen and inadvertently the hoe.

Let me be just be petty and rehash the facts. Her fiance and the father of her child left her for a 17-year-old girl; with the girl in question continuously undergoing transformations to attain features mocked on Black female bodies, but loved when presented on a white face. The very same features Blac Chyna is attacked for- wanna be Black girl without the struggle Kylie Jenner- is deemed beautiful for buying. Y'all know this, but the double standard is so insidious and the blinders so narrow, we are incapable of seeing that as we constantly drag a Black woman through the mud we are putting on display our own failures to embrace women who do not adhere to the problematic notions of patriarchy.

Ironically as feminism is reaching a popularity it hasn't seen since its 60's heyday, self-acclaimed feminists have remained silent as Blac Chyna continues to be targeted. People will praise Kim Kardashian for taking a nude selfie and label her self-love as revolutionary, but let Blac Chyna leave the house in a crop top and leggings and she is automatically a hoe who is a poor example of motherhood.

Let women be what they want to be. Specifically, let Black women live their lives. Hoeism is a social construct latched onto by those who could not grasp the concept of a woman wanting to have sex without the expectation or desire for a relationship or marriage. It's rooted in a society that still labels victims of sexual assault as "willing participants" based on what they were wearing, their make up and what time of day they were out. People's sexual preferences are no ones business but their own, and for full disclosure, the person they are with. No other opinion matters, neither is it relevant.

So please leave Blac Chyna alone and focus all that misguided hate on stopping Donald Trump from reaching the White House and also to call out Hillary Clinton for labeling young black children as super predators who need to be brought to heel.

And congratulations on your engagement Blac Chyna, soon to be Angela Kardashian. At this moment I'm figuratively throwing rice at your feet.
